Each of these five AR cards has been bid up on hype before. After the speculation cooled, their secondary-market premiums have come down noticeably. Here is each one’s current near-mint and gem-mint reference price, worth checking before you buy.
TL;DR
- Pikachu AR [s12a 205/172], Eevee AR Style [MC 755/742], Magikarp AR [SV1a 080/073], Seismitoad AR [SV11B 109/086] and Mew AR [s12a 183/172] currently range ¥7,000–¥45,000 near-mint and ¥17,000–¥79,800 gem-mint.
- Pikachu and Mew both belong to the same set — High Class Pack “VSTAR Universe” (s12a) — and Pikachu is the highest-priced of the five.
- One caveat: these are CURRENT reference prices, not a “was X, now Y” comparison — no historical peak price for any of these five specific cards was supplied. Actual stock and sale prices depend on the listing you find.
Why hyped AR cards tend to cool off like this
Alternate Art (AR) chase cards are a perennial collector focus, and a spike in attention can push secondary-market prices up sharply in the short term. Once the hype fades and supply catches up with demand, premiums typically come back down — a common pattern in the secondary card market generally, not something specific to these five cards.
The figures below are current near-mint and gem-mint reference prices — two genuinely different price points. Gem-mint (near PSA 10 condition) commonly prices at more than double near-mint, which holds for all five cards here too.

FAQ
What’s the difference between near-mint and gem-mint?
Near-mint means the card is in good condition but not necessarily at the top grading tier. Gem-mint is closer to PSA 10 condition. They are two separate grading tiers with separate prices, and one shouldn’t be subtracted from the other or treated as interchangeable.

The prices here are reference figures only. Actual sale prices depend on supply, the seller’s own pricing and the specific listing you find. Search Collect2Day for the card you want and check the actual listing before deciding.
How can Collect2Day help me find these AR cards?
Collect2Day is a proxy-shopping and parcel-forwarding service — we can help you search Japanese resale and auction platforms (Mercari, eBay, JDirectItems among them), buy on your behalf and ship the card to you.
